Where it came from
The Holiday Village set, identified as number 6500-1, was released in 1989 as a seasonal promotional item. It emerged during a period when the brand was expanding its reach into smaller, decorative builds intended for holiday displays. Its design follows the classic aesthetic of late 1980s construction sets, characterized by a modest piece count and a focus on capturing the quintessential imagery of a winter village scene.
Designed within the brand's internal studios, the set sought to provide an accessible and festive building experience for families during the year-end season. It was well-received by consumers as a functional holiday decoration, fitting into the tradition of miniature tabletop villages that gained popularity throughout the decade. The simplicity of its construction and its thematic relevance solidified its place as a nostalgic piece among long-time enthusiasts of the brand's holiday-themed offerings.
