House with Mini Wheel Car

Released in 1974, set 345-1, known as the House with Mini Wheel Car, emerged during a transitional period for the LEGO Group as they were beginning to standardize their product lines. This set belongs to a series of small, supplementary builds that focused on simple domestic scenes, designed to offer children accessible entry points into the modular building system while emphasizing the integration of wheeled vehicles into residential play.

The design follows the aesthetic conventions of early LEGO sets, utilizing a primary-color palette and basic brick geometry that relied on the user's imagination rather than specialized molded pieces. While the original designer is not individually credited in company records, the set reflects the collaborative output of the Billund design studio during the mid-seventies, aiming to maximize playability through the inclusion of a rudimentary car alongside a small structure, which was well-received by parents looking for compact, affordable building kits.
