Where it came from
Released in 2020 as part of the LEGO Jurassic World theme, this set recreates a pivotal action sequence from the 2015 film Jurassic World. The set was designed to capture the high-stakes confrontation between the genetically modified Indominus rex and the defensive Ankylosaurus. It features a gyrosphere station and a launch system, allowing for interactive play that mirrors the cinematic destruction depicted in the movie.
The design team focused on maximizing playability and structural scale to accommodate the large, specialized molded figures of the two dinosaurs. By incorporating a crumbling tree and a detailed station interior, the set captures the chaotic environment of the film's attraction area. It was met with positive reception from fans of the Jurassic franchise who appreciated the inclusion of the rarely depicted Ankylosaurus and the expansion of the LEGO Jurassic World display universe.
