Where it came from
The LEGO Jewellery Box (852165-1), released in 2008 as part of the specialized lifestyle and storage product line, was designed to blend practical utility with the creative spirit of the brand. Created as a vanity accessory, it featured a buildable surface area atop a functional storage drawer, reflecting the company’s efforts during that era to extend their reach beyond traditional construction sets into home decor and personal organization for younger fans.
The inclusion of the 'Sound Fairy'—a battery-operated light and sound unit—was a distinct design choice intended to add an element of interactive play to a utilitarian object. While the accessory line received modest attention compared to the primary brick-building sets, this item remains a noted example of the company’s experimentation with electronic components and functional lifestyle products during the late 2000s.
