Where it came from
Released in 1993, the Knight's Procession was a notable entry in the LEGO Castle theme, specifically under the sub-theme often categorized as the Dragon Knights. Designed during a period when LEGO was expanding its medieval fantasy narrative, the set was intended to portray a royal excursion or diplomatic movement, providing a more peaceful, narrative-driven scene compared to the typical siege-based sets of the era.
The set is widely regarded by collectors for its inclusion of the then-new Dragon Knight faction, characterized by their distinct dragon-emblem shields and capes. The design features a horse-drawn carriage and a small guard detail, reflecting the aesthetic sensibilities of mid-90s LEGO sets which focused on modular playability and the integration of specialized minifigure accessories like helmets with plumes and cloth barding for the horses.
