Where it came from
The Lady Liberty figure was released in 2010 as part of the fourth series of Collectible Minifigures (8827-4). This set was introduced by the manufacturer to offer stylized, individual characters sold in blind bags, moving away from traditional playset-based releases. The design draws clear inspiration from the Statue of Liberty, featuring the iconic crown, torch, and tablet accessories, rendered in a consistent sand-green color palette.
The minifigure was designed to be a playful tribute to the monument, prioritizing recognizability through its unique crown piece and printed dress torso. Upon its release, it became one of the most sought-after figures in the series, appreciated by collectors for its historical theme and the detailed mold used for the crown. It remains a hallmark of the early series, capturing the experimental spirit of the line as it gained widespread popularity.
