Where it came from
The LEGO Batman 2 Stylus Set (000520-1) was released as a promotional accessory coinciding with the 2012 launch of the video game LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes. These styli were primarily distributed through major retailers and specialty gaming shops as a pre-order incentive or a point-of-sale add-on, reflecting a period when branded hardware peripherals were common marketing tools for the Nintendo DS and 3DS platforms.
The design of the set focuses on functional utility rather than complex construction, featuring imagery and motifs inspired by the game's aesthetic, which combined the distinct LEGO visual language with DC Comics iconography. While not a standalone LEGO building set, it served as a collectible piece of memorabilia for fans of the franchise, designed to capitalize on the widespread popularity of both the LEGO gaming series and the expansive Batman intellectual property.
