LEGO Battles: NINJAGO - Nintendo DS

LEGO Battles: Ninjago for the Nintendo DS was released in 2011 as a companion to the initial wave of the Ninjago building set line. Developed by Hellbent Games and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, the title was designed to translate the frantic, elemental combat of the Ninjago lore into a real-time strategy format. It built upon the engine established by the previous LEGO Battles game, aiming to provide a tactile digital experience that complemented the physical sets already gaining popularity among younger players.

The game centers on the conflict between the four ninja protagonists and the skeleton army, reflecting the core narrative of the early Ninjago series. In its design, the developers sought to emphasize the 'spinjitzu' mechanic through specialized combat maneuvers and character-specific abilities. Upon release, it was received as a functional and accessible entry point for children into the real-time strategy genre, praised for its straightforward progression and adherence to the established aesthetic of the LEGO Ninjago universe.
