Where it came from
The LEGO Marvel Taxi, set number 5008076, was released in late 2023 as a promotional item designed to complement the larger Avengers Tower set. It reflects the quintessential aesthetic of New York City, a central setting for many Marvel comic narratives, and serves as a highly detailed miniature tribute to the iconic yellow cabs that populate the fictionalized versions of the city in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The design of this set prioritizes accuracy at a compact scale, utilizing classic LEGO city building techniques to recreate the distinct silhouette of a mid-century American taxi. While it was intended as a gift-with-purchase, the design was well-received by the collector community for its inclusion of unique minifigures, specifically the Black Panther, which encouraged fans to integrate the model into their larger modular city layouts.
