Where it came from
Released in early 2015, Series 13 of the LEGO Minifigures collection continued the popular blind-bag format that the company introduced in 2010. This series was designed to offer a diverse array of unique, thematic characters, ranging from historical archetypes like the Classic King and Egyptian Warrior to modern fantasy concepts like the Galaxy Trooper and Unicorn Girl. The series aimed to provide collectors with distinct, highly detailed characters that could complement various existing LEGO themes or stand alone as display pieces.
The design of the series followed the established aesthetic standards of the LEGO Group, utilizing a mix of dual-molded parts and intricate printed details that were becoming increasingly sophisticated during this era. Creative leads at LEGO focused on blending pop-culture influences with traditional tropes, ensuring each figure possessed a strong individual personality. Upon its release, the series was well received by the community for its high level of character variety and the consistent quality of the specialized accessories included with each figure.
