Where it came from
The LEGO Ninjago City Poster (5005431-1) was released in 2017 as a promotional item associated with the launch of the massive Ninjago City (70620) set. It served as a piece of marketing collateral designed to celebrate the intricate, modular architecture of the Ninjago world, which was heavily inspired by vibrant, high-density Asian metropolises. The poster was distributed through official LEGO brand retail channels to collectors and fans who purchased qualifying items during the promotional window.
The design of the poster captures the vertical, layered aesthetic of the fictional Ninjago City, emphasizing the contrast between the traditional architectural elements and the futuristic, neon-drenched technology inherent to the theme. While not attributed to a single marquee illustrator, the visual style aligns with the conceptual art direction established for The LEGO Ninjago Movie, focusing on depth, color saturation, and the inclusion of various character archetypes to appeal to the franchise’s dedicated fanbase.
