Where it came from
LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, released in 2022, represents a comprehensive reimagining of the video game adaptations of the Star Wars film series. Developed by TT Games, the title was designed to encompass the narrative arc of all nine core films, utilizing a brand new engine that allowed for greater player agency and a deeper integration of LEGO-themed humor. The project faced significant development hurdles, including multiple delays, which heightened anticipation among the franchise's fanbase.
The 5007668-1 designation specifically refers to the physical retail package for the PlayStation 5 version of the game. While the game itself was created by a large team of developers, the aesthetic direction followed the established visual language of the long-running LEGO Star Wars series, which balances nostalgic reverence for the source material with the stylized, modular charm of the brick-based aesthetic. Upon release, it was noted for its scale and the technical evolution of the gameplay mechanics compared to previous installments.
