Where it came from
The LEGO BrickHeadz Legolas & Gimli set (40751) was released in 2024 as part of a commemorative effort to celebrate the enduring legacy of The Lord of the Rings franchise. These stylized, block-based figures are designed to reflect the iconic appearances of the elven archer and the dwarven warrior as they appear in the film trilogy, emphasizing the distinct cultural aesthetics of Middle-earth through the unique, minimalist geometry of the BrickHeadz format.
The set was developed as a direct-to-consumer product, appealing to adult fans of the LEGO system who appreciate both the cinematic source material and the specific design language of the collectible figure line. By focusing on the contrasting silhouettes and weapon accessories of the two characters, the design team aimed to capture the essence of the duo’s camaraderie while providing a compact, displayable tribute to the fantasy genre that has maintained a significant presence in the company’s portfolio.
