Where it came from
The LEGO Creator 11955-1 Lion was released as a promotional polybag set in 2021. Designed to showcase the versatility of the Creator 3-in-1 line, this small-scale model provided builders with the opportunity to construct a stylized, articulated lion using a limited selection of tan and orange bricks. It fits into the tradition of LEGO creating smaller, accessible companions to larger retail sets, often distributed as gifts with purchase or event exclusives to encourage brand engagement among younger builders and enthusiasts.
The design of the lion reflects the signature aesthetic of the Creator theme, focusing on clever part usage to mimic organic shapes despite a low piece count. By utilizing ball-joint elements, the model achieves surprising range of motion for its size, allowing for expressive posing. It was well-received by the collector community for its efficient use of parts and its success in capturing the essence of the animal within a miniature footprint, serving as a distinct example of the designer's ability to maximize playability in minimalist sets.
