Where it came from
Released in 2022 as part of the LEGO Ninjago 'Core' subtheme, Lloyd's Race Car EVO (71763-1) was designed to offer a modular building experience. This era of Ninjago aimed to refresh the brand's aesthetic while celebrating its long-running narrative, focusing on vehicles that could be upgraded with additional armor and components to evolve alongside the character's journey during play.
The set was conceived as a sleek, neon-accented vehicle that emphasizes the agility and speed characteristic of the Ninjago ninja team. It features a design heavily influenced by the high-tech, futuristic motifs prevalent in the series, utilizing a vibrant color palette of green, black, and gold. Upon its launch, it was well-received by fans for its display-ready profile and its interactive transformation mechanics, which successfully integrated the 'EVO' play philosophy introduced that year.
