Where it came from
The LEGO Lucy Hair (853873-1) was released in 2019 as a promotional accessory pack inspired by the character Wyldstyle, also known as Lucy, from The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part. This small set was designed to provide builders with an additional hairpiece for the character, specifically featuring her signature blue-streaked style, alongside a display stand and a printed tile. It functioned as a niche collectible item for fans of the franchise who wished to customize their minifigures beyond the configurations included in the larger primary building sets.
The piece reflects the branding and aesthetic of the film's marketing campaign, emphasizing the vibrant, edgy character design that defined the franchise. Like many specialized accessory packs produced by the LEGO Group, it was intended to serve as a low-cost entry point for collectors or as a gift-with-purchase addition. Its reception was largely centered within the enthusiast community, appreciated primarily for its utility in minifigure photography and custom character displays.
