Luke's Landspeeder

Released in 2017 as part of the Lego Star Wars theme, the 75173 Luke’s Landspeeder set recreates the iconic X-34 landspeeder seen in the opening act of A New Hope. This iteration was designed to capture the vehicle's rugged, weathered aesthetic while incorporating play features such as an opening hood, a storage compartment, and a side-mounted clip for accessories. It arrived during a period where Lego frequently revisited key scenes from the original trilogy to provide updated minifigure selections for new generations of fans.

The set includes minifigures of Luke Skywalker, Ben Kenobi, a Tusken Raider, and an elusive Womp Rat, reflecting the Tatooine encounter sequence. The design process focused on utilizing sand-colored elements to mimic the desert-worn appearance of the craft, balancing the limitations of the brick-built form with the recognizable silhouette of the film prop.
