Where it came from
Released in 2017 as part of the LEGO Elves theme, Magic Rescue from the Goblin Village was designed to expand the narrative of the fictional realm of Elvendale. This series was created to offer a more fantasy-oriented, aesthetic-focused building experience compared to other contemporary lines, featuring distinct color palettes and specialized creature molds that catered to a dedicated fanbase of builders interested in intricate, story-driven sets.
The set itself depicts a rescue mission within a village inhabited by goblins, utilizing a playful, high-fantasy design language characterized by organic curves and vibrant translucent elements. Developed by the internal LEGO design team, it was well-received by collectors for its unique parts and the inclusion of specific characters like Azari and Farran, which helped solidify its place as a centerpiece within the broader Elves collection before the theme was eventually retired.
