Where it came from
The Manuel Neuer minifigure was released in 2016 as part of the LEGO Minifigures DFB - Die Mannschaft Series, specifically set 71014. This collection was produced through a partnership between LEGO and the German Football Association to celebrate the national team's participation in the UEFA Euro 2016 tournament. It marked the first time the company had created a complete series of minifigures based on a specific national squad, capturing the likeness of players in their home kit.
The design of the figure reflects Neuer’s role as the team's goalkeeper, featuring a distinctive green jersey with specific printed details intended to mirror the official apparel worn during the competition. The series was designed by the LEGO Group's internal character design team to ensure accurate representations of the players, receiving widespread attention from both football fans and collectors for its precise branding and inclusion of an authentic football accessory.
