Mateo's Spray Paint Truck

Mateo's Spray Paint Truck, released under the LEGO DREAMZzz theme, is inspired by the animated series that follows children who enter a dream world where their creativity becomes reality. The set reflects the character Mateo, an imaginative artist whose drawings come to life to help him combat the nightmares of the Dream King. It was designed to capture the whimsical, transformative nature of the show, specifically showcasing how everyday objects can be reimagined with fantastical, high-action features.

The design process focused on translating the specific aesthetic of the DREAMZzz universe, which blends traditional vehicle construction with surreal, dream-like elements. As a creative-themed set, it emphasizes the builder's agency, offering modular components that mirror the show's focus on building and rebuilding tools to solve problems. Upon its release, the set was noted for its vibrant color palette and its ability to encourage imaginative play by incorporating accessories like spray paint canisters and articulated monster features.
