Where it came from
The McLaren Racing Pack, released under set number 66792-1, was introduced as a collaborative promotional bundle featuring two distinct LEGO Speed Champions models: the McLaren Solus GT and the McLaren F1 LM. This collection was curated to celebrate the intersection of historic automotive design and cutting-edge racing technology, offering fans a detailed look at the evolution of the McLaren brand through a compact, display-oriented scale.
The models were designed by the LEGO Speed Champions team, who aimed to replicate the aggressive aerodynamic profiles and signature orange livery of the vehicles. The set was released to appeal to both adult automotive enthusiasts and younger builders, focusing on complex brick-built techniques that capture the unique body lines of the full-scale cars. It was received as a comprehensive value pack for fans of high-performance engineering.
