Where it came from
Released in 2022 as part of the LEGO Architecture-inspired series, the Mini Disney The Haunted Mansion (set 40521) was created to celebrate one of the most iconic attractions in Disney park history. The design aims to capture the distinct Gothic Revival architecture of the Mansion, specifically the version found at Walt Disney World in Florida. The set was developed to appeal to adult fans of both Disney parks and intricate, display-oriented model building.
The design focuses on replicating the structure's recognizable silhouette, including its weathered columns and decorative detailing. By using micro-scale building techniques, the designers provided a compact yet faithful representation that functions as a desktop display piece. Upon release, it was generally well-received by collectors for its ability to condense a complex, spooky landmark into a manageable size while retaining the essential character of the attraction.
