Where it came from
The LEGO Creator Mini Volkswagen Beetle (set 40252) was released in 2017 as a promotional item, designed to accompany the larger Creator Expert Volkswagen Beetle (set 10252). It was produced to offer fans a micro-scale version of the iconic 1960s vehicle, featuring the classic rounded silhouette, a surfboard on the roof rack, and a bright azure color scheme that mirrored its larger counterpart.
The design successfully captures the aesthetic of the original Beetle despite its compact size, utilizing a clever selection of small elements to replicate the headlights and curved fenders. It was received favorably by the collecting community as a high-quality commemorative set that served as a rewarding build for those who appreciated the nostalgic appeal of the vintage automotive design.
