Where it came from
The Modular LEGO Store, set number 910009-1, was released as part of the BrickLink Designer Program Series 1 in 2024. This initiative was designed to give fans a chance to own high-quality, fan-designed models that were previously rejected or overlooked by the standard LEGO Ideas review process. The set captures the aesthetic of a classic LEGO brand retail store, complete with a modular architectural style that allows it to integrate seamlessly into existing LEGO city layouts.
The set was designed by Pablo Sánchez Jiménez, a creator noted for his affinity for nostalgic and detailed structural designs. His vision for the model focused on the recognizable elements of a traditional LEGO retail space, incorporating vibrant colors, detailed interior displays, and architectural features that mimic real-world storefronts. Upon its release through the crowdfunding-based BrickLink platform, it was met with positive reception from adult collectors who appreciated its limited production run and its status as a tribute to the brand's own retail history.
