Mrs Potts and Chip

Mrs. Potts and Chip, set number 302006-1, originate from a collection of ceramic-style molded goods designed to replicate the beloved characters from the 1991 animated film Beauty and the Beast. These pieces were crafted to capture the whimsical, anthropomorphic charm of the original animation, emphasizing the cozy, domestic personality of Mrs. Potts and the youthful energy of her son, Chip. They were produced to serve as both functional housewares and decorative tributes to the studio's renaissance era, aiming to bring a tangible piece of the cinematic world into the homes of collectors.

The design of these pieces draws heavily from the artistic direction of the film, which utilized soft curves and warm, inviting color palettes to underscore the magic of the enchanted castle. Sculptors focused on maintaining the iconic features that made the characters distinct, such as Chip's characteristic chip in his rim and the gentle, maternal expression of Mrs. Potts. Upon their release, the set was received warmly by fans of the franchise who sought high-quality, character-accurate memorabilia that functioned well as whimsical decor.
