Where it came from
The Mulan minifigure, released as part of the 2023 LEGO Disney 100 Collectible Minifigures series, commemorates the centennial of the Walt Disney Company. This set was designed to capture iconic characters from throughout Disney's cinematic history, offering fans a detailed, blind-bagged selection of figures that celebrate both classic animation and modern storytelling.
The design of this specific figure draws inspiration from the 1998 animated film, featuring Mulan in her signature attire alongside her companion, Cri-Kee. LEGO designers aimed to balance the aesthetic constraints of the minifigure form with the recognizable cultural motifs of the character, emphasizing intricate print details on the torso and hairpiece to ensure the figure remained faithful to the source material while fitting seamlessly into the broader LEGO Disney collection.
