Where it came from
My Turtle Friend, released as set 2107-1, emerged during a period when specialized plastic construction sets were expanding beyond traditional building themes. Designed as a standalone character piece, the set was intended to offer a simple, accessible assembly experience for younger hobbyists or those interested in small-scale animal figures. Its design focuses on rounded edges and a distinct shell motif, reflecting the broader minimalist aesthetic common to sets produced within this specific, less-categorized series.
Upon its introduction, the set was received as a charming addition to the novelty segment of the toy market. While it does not belong to a major licensed franchise, it is remembered by enthusiasts for its unique color palette and the structural simplicity that characterizes many sets from the 2100-series. The design remains a modest example of mid-era set production, prioritized for its display value and the uncomplicated nature of its building process.
