Where it came from
The Naboo Fighter, set 7141-1, was released in 1999 as part of the initial wave of LEGO Star Wars products launched alongside the theatrical premiere of The Phantom Menace. It represented a significant turning point for the company, marking the first time LEGO secured a licensing agreement with a major film franchise, which fundamentally shifted their product strategy toward highly detailed, narrative-driven sets.
The model was designed by LEGO staff to capture the sleek, chrome-heavy aesthetic of the starfighter featured in the film. While the limited color palette of the late 1990s prevented a truly metallic finish, the design successfully utilized yellow and gray elements to mirror the craft's distinct silhouette. It remains a notable piece for collectors as it includes the first-ever iterations of the Jar Jar Binks, Anakin Skywalker, and Naboo Pilot minifigures.
