Where it came from
The LEGO Star Wars Naboo Starfighter set 7877 was released in 2011 as part of the theme's ongoing tribute to the prequel trilogy. It serves as an updated iteration of the N-1 starfighter design, specifically capturing the sleek aesthetic featured in Episode I: The Phantom Menace. The set was engineered to refine the building techniques and visual accuracy of earlier versions, incorporating updated minifigures and improved structural elements to better reflect the craft's signature curved, chrome-like wings and yellow livery.
Designed within the LEGO Group's internal design team, this model prioritizes the balance between playability and screen accuracy. By including figures such as Anakin Skywalker, Naboo Pilot, and a Destroyer Droid, the set aims to recreate the climatic battle sequence above the Naboo plains. Upon its release, it was received as a standard mid-range set that successfully modernized the N-1 silhouette, remaining a representative example of how LEGO evolves classic ship designs through incremental adjustments in parts usage and minifigure detail.
