Where it came from
Released in 2016 as part of the LEGO Nexo Knights tie-in merchandise, this sketchbook was designed to support the launch of a new theme that blended medieval fantasy with futuristic technology. It provided a dedicated space for children to engage with the franchise's unique aesthetic, which prioritized neon-colored armor and digital-inspired monster designs over traditional castle motifs.
The book served as an ancillary product during the peak of the Nexo Knights multimedia campaign, which included a television series and a digital app game. Its layout and instructional prompts were crafted to mirror the stylistic choices of the show’s animation, encouraging users to replicate the distinct, angular creature designs that defined the antagonistic 'Stone Monster' and 'Lava Monster' factions within the series.
