Where it came from
Niksput was released in 2014 as part of the first series of LEGO Mixels, a creative collaboration between the LEGO Group and Cartoon Network. The line was conceived to introduce a new play pattern centered on small, buildable characters that could be combined to form larger 'max' figures, reflecting a design ethos that prioritized modularity and character-driven narratives suited for short-form television animation.
Designed within the aesthetic framework of the Orbitons tribe, Niksput features a distinct color palette of white, trans-blue, and orange, intended to evoke a space-age, futuristic theme. The character was illustrated and sculpted with exaggerated proportions and mechanical wings, a design choice meant to emphasize the character's energetic and slightly clumsy personality as depicted in the companion animated shorts. The set was generally well-received by fans of small-scale building sets for its expressive parts and high play value relative to its compact size.
