Where it came from
The Ninjago Sword, set number 853105-1, was released by the LEGO Group in 2011 as part of the initial wave of accessories supporting the launch of the Ninjago theme. This foam replica was designed to provide a lightweight, play-friendly experience for children, mirroring the iconic dragon-hilt swords wielded by the protagonists in the animated television series that introduced the brand's lore.
The design draws heavily from the aesthetic of the series, balancing a stylized, fantasy-inspired blade with a durable foam construction intended for safe roleplay. While the Ninjago theme became a long-running and highly successful franchise for the company, this particular accessory was marketed as a standalone piece for imaginative play rather than a core building set, and it remains a nostalgic touchstone for early collectors of the theme.
