Where it came from
The Parrot Costume minifigure, designated 71051-12, was released as part of the LEGO Collectible Minifigures Series 15 in 2016. This series was designed to offer unique, character-driven designs that pushed the boundaries of standard minifigure aesthetics, moving beyond traditional licensed themes to include more whimsical and imaginative roles like the shark suit guy and the parrot costume wearer.
The design of the figure features a specialized molded headpiece that captures the vibrant plumage of a tropical parrot, complete with a hooked beak and detailed printed plumage. The figure was crafted to showcase the versatility of LEGO's plastic molding capabilities, and it was received positively by the collector community for its colorful design and the creative potential it added to existing dioramas and character-focused collections.
