Where it came from
The LEGO Friends Party Set, released under the set number 851362-1, emerged during the height of the popularity of the Friends theme, which revitalized the brand's approach to character-driven play. This set was designed as an accessory pack intended to supplement larger builds, providing essential elements for party-themed storytelling such as balloons, gifts, and cake pieces. Its creation reflects the theme's focus on social interaction and domestic scenes, which were central to the identity of the Heartlake City sub-brand.
The design of this set adheres to the established aesthetic of the Friends line, characterized by a vibrant color palette and small, detailed accessories that prioritize playability. Developed by the LEGO design team to offer collectors an affordable way to populate their dioramas with festive decor, the set was received as a functional, supplemental release. It maintains the standard of quality consistent with the company's accessory packs, focusing on modularity and thematic consistency rather than complex building techniques.
