Where it came from
The Pillow Décor 'N' More set 7520-1 was released in the mid-1990s as a creative crafting kit intended for home sewing and interior decoration. Produced during a period when DIY home aesthetic kits gained popularity among retail craft stores, the set provided users with pre-cut fabric patterns and foundational instructions to assemble bespoke cushions. It was designed to appeal to hobbyists seeking an accessible entry point into custom textile work, focusing on simplicity and functionality rather than high-fashion textile design.
The design philosophy behind the set emphasized modularity, allowing individuals to customize the final appearance of their decor through the selection of trim, filler, and exterior fabric finishes. While it was not positioned as a professional-grade upholstery tool, it received modest recognition in craft magazines of the era for its clear instructions and the reliability of its included templates. The set represents a distinct snapshot of 1990s domestic leisure, where mass-marketed kits encouraged personal expression through accessible home craft.
