Where it came from
Released in the early 1980s as part of a specialized range of stationery and organizational accessories, this plastic folder was designed specifically to protect the paper building instructions included with Legoland sets. During this era, as sets grew in complexity and instructions expanded into multi-page booklets, the folder provided a practical solution for preventing wear, creases, and loss in a play environment.
The folder features iconic, minimalist branding consistent with the company's design language of the period, emphasizing utility and durability. While it was not a centerpiece of the building experience, it remains a nostalgic artifact for enthusiasts who remember the transition toward structured preservation of instruction manuals. It is widely regarded today as a functional piece of institutional history that highlights the brand's long-standing focus on the longevity of their building systems.
