Where it came from
Released in 2005, the Police Motorcycle set 7235-1 arrived as part of the re-launch of the Lego City theme, which sought to return to a more realistic and grounded urban aesthetic after the experimental styles of the preceding years. As one of the smaller, entry-level sets of the City line, it was designed to provide an accessible and affordable point of entry for collectors and children, serving as a functional utility vehicle that expanded the broader police department infrastructure within the City layout.
The design features a simple but iconic build centered on a classic motorcycle chassis and a police officer minifigure equipped with a radio and a small radar gun accessory. It was received as a quintessential 'pocket-money' set, praised for its straightforward construction and its ability to add instant narrative value to larger City displays, perfectly capturing the minimalist design philosophy that defined the Lego City aesthetic during the mid-2000s.
