Where it came from
Released in 2015 as part of the Lego Jurassic World tie-in line, this set depicts a high-stakes aerial retrieval mission. It was created to coincide with the theatrical release of the film Jurassic World, capitalizing on the franchise's renewed presence in popular culture. The design focuses on the iconic conflict between human technology and prehistoric creatures, centering on a helicopter vehicle outfitted with a net-shooter mechanism.
The set was designed to offer a dynamic play experience, prioritizing the mobility of both the Pteranodon figure and the helicopter. It features minifigures of Simon Masrani and an ACU trooper, capturing the specific aesthetic of the film's security team. Upon its release, it was generally well-received by fans of the theme for its inclusion of a Pteranodon and its functional play features, providing a representative snapshot of the cinematic Jurassic World merchandising strategy.
