Where it came from
Released in 2008 as part of the LEGO Indiana Jones theme, Race for the Stolen Treasure (set 7622-1) recreates the climactic truck chase sequence from the 1981 film Raiders of the Lost Ark. The set was designed to capture the high-stakes action of the scene, featuring a detailed military truck, a transport car, and several essential minifigures including Indiana Jones, Marion Ravenwood, and various German soldiers.
The set reflects the design philosophy of LEGO's licensed themes from the late 2000s, which prioritized playability and iconic movie moments for a collector-oriented audience. It was generally well-received by fans for its inclusion of the highly coveted Indiana Jones minifigure and the sturdy, play-focused construction of the vehicles. It remains a notable representation of the cinematic collaborations between LEGO and Lucasfilm.
