Where it came from
The 10002-1 Railroad Club Car was released in 2002 as part of the LEGO My Own Train series, a specialized line designed to appeal to adult railway enthusiasts and collectors. The set was created to function as a modular expansion for the My Own Train locomotive sets, allowing fans to build custom-length passenger consists that were compatible with standard LEGO track systems.
Designed with a classic, vintage aesthetic in mind, the club car features a dark green color scheme and ornate detailing meant to evoke the atmosphere of early 20th-century luxury rail travel. While the set was well-regarded for its nostalgic design and compatibility with broader train layouts, it reflects a period when LEGO was transitioning its train theme toward more diverse and modular offerings, eventually becoming a sought-after piece for those specializing in historical railway recreations.
