Where it came from
The Raptor and Trap set, cataloged as 122504-1, was produced as part of the Schleich Prehistoric Animals line. Designed to capture the popular imagination surrounding theropod dinosaurs, the set features a highly detailed model of a dromaeosaurid alongside a thematic trapping mechanism. The design reflects the brand's long-standing focus on scientific, albeit simplified, representations of extinct species intended for educational play and display.
Schleich, a German toy company founded in 1935, developed this set during a period when their paleontological figures became a standard in the industry for their robust construction and textured paint applications. The piece was well-received by collectors of prehistoric fauna for its durability and the inclusion of interactive accessories, which marked a shift toward more narrative-driven play in the manufacturer's dinosaur catalog.
