Where it came from
Released in 2016 as part of the Lego Nexo Knights theme, this polybag set was designed to capture a miniature, portable version of the larger Fortrex mobile fortress. The set emerged during a period when Lego was heavily promoting cross-platform play, blending physical building sets with a digital app experience. Its design intent was to provide a compact, affordable entry point for children to engage with the Nexo Knights storyline, which centered on a high-tech medieval fantasy conflict.
The model reflects the distinct aesthetic of the Nexo Knights line, characterized by its mix of classic castle elements and futuristic, neon-accented technology. While the larger Fortrex served as a centerpiece for the theme, this mini iteration was received as a functional desk display piece, valued for its inclusion of the Robin Underwick minifigure and its representation of the series' core vehicle design on a small, accessible scale.
