Where it came from
The Saber-tooth Tiger Tribe Pack, released under the LEGO Legends of Chima theme in 2015, represents the later stages of a high-fantasy line centered on anthropomorphic animal factions. Designed to expand the icy Saber-tooth faction, this small set allowed collectors to build out their armies with specialized minifigures equipped with translucent blue ice-themed weaponry, reflecting the narrative shift toward the 'Ice Hunters' arc.
The set was conceptualized by the LEGO design team to provide an accessible entry point into the Chima universe, emphasizing playability through the inclusion of a compact buildable ice-slinger vehicle. Upon release, it was well-received by fans of the theme for its cohesive aesthetic and the inclusion of exclusive printed minifigures, which helped maintain interest in the Chima line during its final year of retail availability.
