Where it came from
Released in 2007 as part of the Castle theme, the Skeleton Tower, set 7093-1, represents a return to the classic fantasy-driven building sets that defined the late 2000s. It was designed to provide a modular, antagonistic fortress for the Skeleton faction, featuring play functions like a drop-down wall and a skeletal throne. The set reflects a design philosophy focused on high-action playability and the integration of specialized weaponry pieces, which were a hallmark of the era's focus on structured narrative building.
The design team emphasized a dark, gothic aesthetic, utilizing a palette of greys, blacks, and bone-white elements to establish an imposing visual presence. Upon release, the set was well-regarded by the building community for its effective use of limited parts to create a tall, vertical profile that stood out on a display shelf. It remains a notable piece for collectors interested in the evolution of medieval-themed fantasy sets produced during this period.
