Where it came from
The Speedorz Ramp, identified as part of the 391214-1 set, emerged during the height of the LEGO Legends of Chima theme, which debuted in 2013 as a multifaceted narrative-driven product line. This specific component was designed to facilitate the high-speed, pull-ripcord mechanics of the Speedorz play system, allowing figures to launch and traverse obstacles in a competitive arena setting. The design focused on structural stability and kinetic engagement, utilizing a standardized interlocking brick system that allowed for modular expansion within the Chima world.
Engineered by the LEGO Group to provide a tactile, active play experience, the ramp served as a focal point for the franchise's emphasis on dueling and action-oriented play. While the Chima theme was often noted for its expansive world-building and character-driven media, the physical set components like the Speedorz Ramp were praised for their durability and the simplicity of their assembly. The piece reflects the era's design shift toward integrated play features that bridged the gap between traditional construction sets and action-oriented tabletop gaming.
