Where it came from
Released in 2017 as part of the LEGO Ninjago theme to coincide with The LEGO Ninjago Movie, set 70606 Spinjitzu Training served as an accessible entry-level model. Designed to capture the essence of the characters' martial arts discipline, the set features a small training station with a scroll, lanterns, and a spinning training dummy. Its production was intended to offer collectors and younger fans an affordable, compact build that complemented the larger, more complex sets in the movie-inspired product line.
The set was designed by the LEGO Group's design team to reflect the aesthetic of the film, focusing on the balanced, traditional architectural elements of the Ninjago world. It received positive feedback upon release for its high parts-to-price ratio and the inclusion of two primary characters, Kai and Zane, in their movie-specific outfits. By distilling the cinematic experience into a simplified desktop display, it effectively served its purpose as both a functional playset and a collectible vignette for fans of the franchise.
