SpongeBob SquarePants: Bikini Bottom

Released in 2006 as part of the initial wave of the SpongeBob SquarePants theme, this set was designed to capture the iconic aesthetic of the Nickelodeon animated series. It serves as a representation of SpongeBob's pineapple home and Squidward's easter island head, two of the most recognizable structures within the underwater city of Bikini Bottom. The set was created to appeal to both younger fans of the show and collectors looking for character-focused, mid-scale builds.

The design team at the time focused on translating the whimsical, organic shapes of the show's architecture into the modular constraints of the building system. The set includes specialized molded pieces for the characters, reflecting the brand's shift toward creating more nuanced, show-accurate minifigures during that era. It was generally well-received upon launch for its vibrant color palette and its ability to provide an immersive, play-oriented experience that mirrored the series' distinct visual style.
