Spring Lantern Festival

The Spring Lantern Festival set, released in 2021 as part of the Chinese New Year sub-theme, was designed to celebrate traditional festivities with a focus on cultural authenticity. It was developed to capture the aesthetic of a classic Chinese park, featuring details such as a moon gate, a pavilion, a pond with koi, and a red-crowned crane, all set against a backdrop of glowing lanterns. The set was created to appeal to both younger builders and adult fans of LEGO, marking a significant expansion of the company's regional offerings.

The design team emphasized an immersive building experience, utilizing vibrant colors and intricate sub-assemblies to mimic the architecture and atmosphere of an actual festival site. Upon its release, the set was widely praised by the collector community for its sophisticated build techniques and excellent value, often cited as one of the best representations of Chinese culture produced by the brand. Its modular design allowed it to connect seamlessly with other sets in the Chinese New Year series, further establishing it as a cornerstone piece for enthusiasts of the theme.
