Stargazing with Celeste

Stargazing with Celeste, set number 77053-1, was released as part of the LEGO Animal Crossing theme in 2024. This collection emerged from a collaboration between The LEGO Group and Nintendo, aiming to translate the cozy, aesthetic-focused gameplay of the popular Animal Crossing video game series into a tangible, physical building experience. The set captures the character Celeste, an owl astronomer, alongside a small buildable observatory setting that reflects the iconic celestial-themed items players encounter in the game.

The design of the set focuses on miniaturized, stylized play, prioritizing character recognition and the inclusion of specific accessories like the star fragment and telescope. Designers opted for a compact footprint to suit the collectible nature of the sub-theme, ensuring it fits easily onto a shelf or desk. The set was received as a accessible entry point for fans of the franchise, lauded for its accuracy in representing the game's distinctive art style while maintaining the modular compatibility characteristic of modern LEGO builds.
