Where it came from
The Stockholm Minifigure Collection, released under the designation STOCKHOLM-1, originated as a commemorative project celebrating the architectural and cultural heritage of Sweden’s capital. The set was designed to capture the essence of Stockholm’s historic Gamla Stan, featuring figures dressed in traditional Swedish attire alongside iconic representations of local occupations, such as royal guards and seafaring personnel. It was produced to serve as a high-quality souvenir for visitors, reflecting the meticulous attention to detail often found in Scandinavian minimalist design.
The collection was envisioned by a team of local designers who aimed to balance whimsical character aesthetics with a grounded, respectful depiction of Stockholm's landmarks. By focusing on distinct color palettes and authentic accessory pairings, the creators sought to provide a narrative experience for collectors. Upon its debut, the series was well-received for its departure from standard franchise-based figures, earning praise from design enthusiasts who appreciated the cultural narrative embedded in the small-scale format.
